North Island, New Zealand Sight-Seeing Tours

Activity/Tour
Our incredible 30 day New Zealand Overland Tour covers both the North and the South Islands. Departing Christchurch we visit Kaikoura, Hanmer Springs and travel through Molesworth Station before exploring Abel Tasman National Park. We journey down the wild West Coast to Punakaiki and Fox Glacier before arriving at Queenstown and Milford Sound. We travel through Central Otago, the middle of the South Island, to Lake Tekapo and we spend an unforgettable night in a High Country Station before ending back at *Christchurch. We travel from *Auckland north to the Bay of Islands and Cape Reinga / 90 Mile Beach before traveling south via Kaitaia to the picturesque Hokianga Harbour. South via Auckland, to Karangahake Gorge and Rotorua. After traveling on one of the last true back country highways, we spend time at Lake Waikaremoana and the Hawkes Bay Wine region. From here we travel via Rangitikei, Wairarapa and Cape Palliser to New Zealand’s capital, Wellington. We drive north on The Forgotten Highway to Whangamomona, then to Waitomo and finally back to Auckland where this fabulous journey will end.

Typical Day
No two days are the same: on your tour you will see golden beaches, remote ancient forests, crystal clear lakes and rivers, majestic volcanoes and glaciers. This is a magical journey.
Age range, type of group
The majority of our passengers are aged 20 - 55, traveling with a partner, by themselves or in a group of friends. They originate from the UK, Australia, New Zealand, North America and Europe.
Sleeping and meals

We use different forms of accommodation on our Overland Tours - Camp in the middle of High Country Stations, overnight in amazing back country lodges, stay in metropolitan cities & small townships. When camping we provide easy to erect 3 person dome tents and comfortable sleeping mattresses. There are opportunities en-route to 'upgrade' to basic chalet type accommodation in some campsites at your own expense. All 'hard top' accommodation is based on Double / Twin Share. Three meals a day are provided whilst camping. Whilst in city hotels, breakfast is provided.
Policies & Restrictions
Passengers under 18 are not permitted on our Overland Truck Tours. If you charter the entire truck for a group holiday, then under 18 passengers are permitted. Our truck has a strict non-smoking policy. No animals are allowed on the vehicle.

Other Information
Transport used: Our purpose built overland truck. Our New Zealand truck 'Danmar' is a Scania 93M series and is the only Adventure Overland Vehicle in the country. It is fully enclosed with tinted sliding windows, forward facing seats, heaters, a fridge, a safe and a stereo. It also has a fully stocked kitchen, cooking and camping equipment, two mountain bikes for free use, an on board library and plenty of room for your luggage. Our Overland trucks are designed for comfort, viewing and getting off the beaten track.
We also cruise, raft and ferry.
